EXPLORE

The Garden

A tucked-away green space of winding paths, mature trees, water, flowers and quiet corners.

A garden to discover slowly.

The Hermitage is not a formal municipal garden. Its charm lies in its layers: woodland shade, seasonal planting, wet habitats and paths that invite you to see what is around the next corner.

The garden sits in Gosport, close to Ann's Hill Cemetery and Privett Park. It has been shaped over time by the people who have cared for it and by the wildlife that has made a home here.

What you'll find

Woodland

Mature trees, shade and understorey planting give much of the garden its secluded character.

Water

Pond and wet areas add another habitat and a different rhythm to the garden.

Seasonal colour

Flowers and foliage ensure the garden never looks quite the same twice.

Visiting the garden

This site is being developed alongside the emerging Friends group. More detailed visitor information, accessibility notes and a garden map will be added as they are confirmed.
