A proposed volunteer-led group to support, protect and celebrate The Hermitage Wildlife Garden.
A group built around the garden.
The Friends group is currently being developed. Its purpose is to bring together local people who want to help The Hermitage thrive for wildlife, visitors and future generations.
The intention is to work constructively alongside Gosport Borough Council while creating a sustainable volunteer community around the garden.
The Friends group is not yet formally established. Information on this page describes the proposed group and will be updated as formation progresses.
What we want to achieve
Community
Make it easier for local people to take part and feel ownership of the garden's future.
Conservation
Support practical care, biodiversity and sensitive improvement of the garden.
Heritage
Preserve the history, archive and stories connected with The Hermitage.
Inclusion
Welcome people with different skills, experience and amounts of time to give.

Build volunteer capacity and seek appropriate funding for long-term work.

Create practical opportunities to maintain, restore and enjoy the garden together.
